How we will deal with an initial consultation
Once you have submitted your enquiry a specialist employment solicitor will, where possible, call you within one hour to discuss your matter with you.
If you are submitting your enquiry in writing and you wish to undertake a free initial consultation, we would be grateful if you could keep the information that you are providing us with to a minimum, if possible – be as short and precise as you possibly can. If you send us large amounts of confidential documents or your matter is potentially complex then whether we offer a free initial consultation is at our discretion – we will tell you after we have reviewed your enquiry whether we are able to provide a free initial consultation or whether there will be a charge for this.
If we do not think that your case is appropriate for a free initial consultation
If we do not think that your case is appropriate for a free initial consultation (for the reasons detailed above) then we will then give you the option of a nominal agreed (fixed) fee that is necessary for us to consider and assess your case, and to provide the initial advice. A typical charge for this is between £200 and £300 plus VAT, however this is just an average. A case with a lot of background history and issues is likely to be more than this, and conversely a more simple and self -contained issue could be less.
Important points when providing us with your documents
- you must send us your documents through our online portal or by email – we will not accept the provision of documentation for an initial consultation by post and any documents that we receive on this basis will be shredded;
- do not send us original documentation by post as it may be lost or damaged in transit, and we cannot guarantee receipt – you must therefore, as above, send us your documents via our online portal or by email
Our one day policy
In periods of extreme high volume of enquiries received, and during a period of public holidays (such as Christmas and New Year), we may not always be able to offer free initial advice and/or a no win no fee service.
Although we are usually able to confirm the same day (and often within hours) whether we are able to progress your enquiry if you have not heard back from us WITHIN 1 WORKING DAY of submitting your enquiry then please assume we are unable to progress this.
