Employment Tribunal finds the AA guilty of disability discrimination against employee – an Employment Tribunal sitting in Exeter has found in favour of a disabled employee in their claim for disability discrimination in the Employment Tribunal. The Tribunal found that the AA had failed to make reasonable adjustments, had directly discriminated against him, subjected him to harassment and subjected him to discrimination arising from his disability (GMBAA)
  2. Tribunal rules sacking of Fife after-school club manager fair – a Scottish Employment Tribunal has found that an after-school club manager was not unfairly dismissed from her role after she was forced to take extended sickness absence because of her father’s illness (The Courier)

Medical practice manager wins Employment Tribunal claim but has compensation drastically cut – a former medical practice manager has won her Employment Tribunal claim for unfair dismissal but has had her compensation drastically reduced after the Tribunal ruled that she had acted unreasonably during and after her employment (The Redditch & Alcester Advertiser)
  4. Prison officer recovering from cancer awarded €80,000 in employment tribunal case – A prison officer who had fought cancer was awarded €80,000 after being denied the chance to interview for a promotion. The Irish Prison Service was directed by the Equality Tribunal to pay the man €33,000 for what it deemed “discriminatory treatment” and a further €47,000 for what it called “victimisation” (The Journal)

Dyslexic secretary who obtained law degree successfully sues her former employer in the Employment Tribunal – A secretary who was bullied and harassed at work over her dyslexia and an injury that she suffered on her bike has won her Employment Tribunal claim for disability discrimination (The Daily Mail)
  6. Shropshire college must pay former applicant £25,000 after race discrimination claim – Shropshire College have been ordered to pay a former applicant for a lectureship position £25,000 after he was rejected and sued in the Employment Tribunal (The Shropshire Star)
