  5. Sacked charity shop worker plans to sue former employer over unpaid wages – A sacked charity shop worker is planning to sue his employer for unfair dismissal and unpaid wages after he was dismissed from British Red Cross earlier this year (This is Staffordshire)
  6. Howell’s School, Denbigh: Dismissed Bernie Routledge awarded £217,000 – A former head teacher of a private girls’ school in Denbighshire has been awarded £216,898 for unfair dismissal. Bernie Routledge, from Gwernaffield near Mold, and his former partner Helen Price took action against Howell’s School in Denbigh in March (BBC)
  7. £49,000 for union activists branded racist over ‘wise monkeys’ pamphlet – Four senior trade union officials have been awarded nearly £50,000 damages after being accused by bosses of racism over a “three wise monkeys” leaflet. Unison members Onay Kasab, Glenn Kelly, Suzanne Muna and Brian Debus denied the claims and won their case at an employment tribunal (Evening Standard)
  8. Hartlebury woman makes ‘disability discrimination’ compensation claim – A woman has made a claim for disability discrimination to the Employment Tribunal after she claimed that she had been bullied and harassed by a line manager because of her sex (The Kidderminster Shuttle)

RMT wins key victory in Employment Tribunal over victimisation of Serco Barclays “Boris Bikes” activist – Transport Union RMT has won a victory in the Employment Tribunal over Serco after a worker claimed that he was unfairly dismissed and victimized by the company over his trade union activities (RMT)
  10. Mother-of-two teaching assistant who posted Facebook picture of herself drinking from a phallic-shaped straw wins £16k payout after being ‘unfairly dismissed’ – A primary school teacher has won her claim for unfair dismissal in the Employment Tribunal after she was sacked last year for allegedly swearing in the playground and over a number of Facebook photos posted online (The Mail Online)
