  2. Police Scotland whistleblower wins the right to shame officers accused of corruption at hearing – A police officer has won the right to publicly name colleagues accused of corruption at a job hearing. Police Scotland wanted to gag Robert Brown from making serious allegations in front of members of the public at an employment tribunal (The Daily Record)
  3. Newcastle College boss who appointed her husband slammed by judge in ‘nepotism’ row – A North East college boss interviewed and then appointed her husband to another top job in a decision a judge described as “quite extraordinary”. The matter was highlighted by ‘whistleblower’ Pitra McNeill, a manager at Newcastle College, who had lost her job in a management restructure and taken her case to an employment tribunal (Chronicle Live)
  4. Muslim woman suing estate agent ‘after being told black hijab made her look like a terrorist’ – A Muslim woman is suing her former employers after allegedly being ordered to remove her black headscarf because the garment had “terrorist affiliations”. The estate agent, who did not want to be named, had been working for Harvey Dean in Bury for almost a year when she says managers took issue with her hijab (The Independent)
  5. Creditors of failed Borders building firm warned they face wait for money – Creditors of a Galashiels building company forced into administration last November with the loss of 38 jobs might have to wait “some considerable time” before their claims are settled (The Southern Reporter)
  6. GP practice manager ‘bullied’ by doctor – A long-serving Pen Llyn practice manager who claimed to have been bullied, harassed and intimidated by one of her GP bosses was unfairly dismissed, a tribunal has ruled (Cambrian News)
  7. Cancer specialist ‘hounded for bullying after raising fears over patient safety’ – A cancer doctor was accused of bullying after raising fears over patient safety, a tribunal heard. Dr Pauline Leonard, 54, went to bosses over the use of a prescription drug and the behaviour of a nurse (The Sun)
  8. Unite hails landmark overtime tribunal win – The UK’s largest union, Unite, has called a recent tribunal ruling in favour of refuse workers whose holiday pay did not include overtime a ‘landmark’ decision (Unite)
  9. Solicitor wins unfair dismissal and indirect sex discrimination claims – A ‘highly regarded’ court of protection solicitor with 22 years of experience has been awarded more than £90,000 after being unfairly dismissed by Switalskis (The Solicitors Journal)
  10. JPMorgan Wins Appeals Ruling in FX Salesman’s Dismissal Case – A JPMorgan Chase & Co. won a ruling overturning a 2016 employment tribunal decision that found a former currency salesman was improperly fired in the wake of the foreign-exchange manipulation scandal (Bloomberg)
