Former Sunday Express critic claims he was sacked over discovery of ‘gay’ naked online photos – A former theatre critic at the Sunday Express who claimed that he was sacked as the paper said he brought it into “disrepute” when naked photos of him two decades old were discovered online, will go to a tribunal next week (The Pink News)
  3. Nurse denies leaving patient in chair overnight as she takes hospital trust to employment tribunal – A Beoley nurse has denied responsibility for a diabetic woman patient allegedly being left overnight in a chair instead of a bed at Redditch’s Alexandra Hospital. The accusation was made against Sheeba Varghese at Birmingham Employment Tribunal by the Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (The Redditch Advertiser)
  4. Care workers take Hampshire home employers to employment tribunal over pay and working hours – Eleven female carers to the elderly are taking their employers to a tribunal claiming they were only paid by the minutes they spent with clients rather than their rostered working hours (The Guardian)
  5. ‘Whistleblower’ takes Guildford council to employment tribunal – A “whistleblower” has taken Guildford Borough Council to an industrial tribunal claiming his redundancy was unfair dismissal, writes Matt Vowles. Jeremy Gray worked for the council for several years in the Environmental Health department (Get Surrey)
  6. Worker loses disability discrimination claim against Dundee City Council – A Dundee City Council employee has lost his disability discrimination claim against the local authority, with an employment tribunal ruling he was “clearly not an easy employee to manage” (The Courier)
  7. Union claims National Library of Wales in ‘turmoil’ on eve of high-profile employment tribunal – The trade union for top civil servants claims the National Library of Wales is in turmoil over the treatment of two highly respected members of staff who were demoted after technical errors were identified in the awarding of a contract (Wales Online)
  8. Fire centre supervisor sacked for sexual harassment – A supervisor at the Limerick Fire Service who was sacked after a sexual harassment investigation has failed in an unfair dismissal action (The Limerick Leader)
  9. Social landlord overturns workers’ tribunal victory – A tribunal judge has overturned a ruling which would have left Liverpool Mutual Homes exposed to claims worth hundreds of thousands of pounds for unfair dismissal and deduction of wages (Inside Housing)
